Russell, a Toronto cutlery shop owner, teamed up with Rudolf Grohmann, a Czech knife maker living in Pictou, Nova Scotia. In this partnership more than fifty years ago, the first knife designed for Canadian woods living was brought to life. Known simply as model #1, the Original had a unique design with an ergonomic handle, elliptical blade, and a sturdy full tang construction. Since those early days, many more designs have been added, modified, and included in their ever-increasing assortment of working tools.
